Currently, the revenue generated from its photovoltaic (PV) solar energy operations is about US$300 million each year. The Wilmington-based company expects to develop its PV operations through expanding the production capacity of Solamet thick film metallization pastes.
As the market of sustainable energy sources is booming, DuPont anticipated that the PV market will grow at average annual rate of over 30% in the next several years, stimulating demand for existing and new materials, which help improve energy conversion efficiency.
