SunEdison
has built and activated a 1.18MW ground-mounted PV solar power system
for Ironwood State Prison, California. The system is expected to
provide 2.4 million kWh in its first year, and should reach over 43
million kWh of power over a 20-year period.
Funded via a public-private partnership between SunEdison and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), the installation contributes to meeting CDCR’s energy management goals. It is the second PV system managed by SunEdison for CDCR, the first being the 1.16MW solar power system at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (pictured).
