With
long lead-time thin film equipment such as plasma deposition,
sputtering and lasers systems already ordered, XsunX has said that it
is in the final stages of site selection for its thin film solar module
manufacturing plant to be based in Oregon, USA. Detailed site
evaluations at two different locations are underway with a decision
based on the findings expected before the end of March this year.
"We are working to finalize these efforts so that we may complete our lease negotiations as soon as possible," stated Mr. Joe Grimes, COO for XsunX. "As we have previously announced, our plan is still to secure a building to house our thin film solar module manufacturing systems by the end of March and that's what our team is working diligently to accomplish."
The company expects to have facilities modifications completed before tools start being delivered later in the year. The company has plans for a phased capacity ramp with a target of 100MW by 2010.
