Abound Solar seeks new CEO, as Pascal Noronha steps down, moves over to chairman role

25 June 2009 | By Tom Cheyney | Going Places

abound_solar_noronhaAbound Solar is looking for a new CEO, as Pascal Noronha is stepping down as chief executive while taking over the role of chairman of the board of the CdTe thin-film PV company. Current chairman John Hill will remain on the board as a founding director.

Noronha came out of retirement in late 2006 to help found Abound and help transform its technology from a lab-scale process into a fully automated, commercial-scale production line capable of producing approximately 1 million solar modules annually. Since the company began commercial production on its first 65-MW module line in its Longmont, CO, factory earlier this year, he decided to pass day-to-day operations oversight to new leadership that will guide Abound Solar through its next phase of growth.

Abound's board has begun the process of identifying a replacement for Noronha, who will continue in his current role as CEO until his successor is appointed.
