Premier Power Renewable Energy announced its appointment of Kevin Murray, former California State Senator who was a strong advocate for green energy initiatives and played key roles in the authoring and passing of solar legislation. One of Murray’s more noteworthy bills was SB1, “Million Solar Roofs”, which provided over $3 billion to expand the use of solar energy in California.
Dean R. Marks, President and CEO of Premier Power stated: “Former Sen. Murray’s knowledge and understanding of the working relationship between Government, public policy and business interests, particularly as it relates to the future of solar in the US, will be of outstanding value to Premier Power. His hands-on experience, and understanding of the political and business environment, is critical to understanding the future opportunities for Solar in America. We look forward to his participation on the Premier Power board of directors.”
Upon completion of law school, Murray started at the William Morris Agency until he left the company to pursue his own legal and political career. He served 12 years as a state senator and held leadership roles in several Assembly committees. Murray returned to William Morris once he left public office to direct their corporate consulting division.
Murray holds a B.S. in business administration and accounting from California State University, Northridge, an M.A. in business administration from Loyola Marymount University and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School.
