Recurrent Energy, a leading provider of solar energy, has expanded its executive leadership team by appointing Sheldon Kimber as Vice President of Development, Benjamin Cook as Vice President of Finance and Karl Knight as the Managing Director of International Development.
In his new role, Kimber will lead all North American project development activities. Prior to being appointed as VP of Development, he had been Vice President of Finance, Project Origination and Development. Before joining Recurrent Energy, Kimber has been with Calpine, working on gas-fired power projects for five years.
Benjamin Cook will take over the Vice President of Finance position from Kimber. With ten years of experience, Cook will lead Recurrent Energy’s corporate and project financing, including managing strategic procurement relationships. He served as Director of Structured Finance & Business Development at SunPower Corporation Systems, developing and financing large-scale solar photovoltaic projects across North America, Europe, and Asia. Before that he was CEO at Solar Electric Light Company (SELCO), which sells, services and finances solar electricity systems in emerging markets.
Knight had been in global financing for close to two decades before being appointed Managing Director of International. Before joining Recurrent in 2008, he was Managing Director of Finance and Development at Regenesis Power, a commercial solar services company, in addition to holding several senior roles in technology investment banking at GCA Savvian, Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
