ReneSola gains VP of manufacturing, but loses COO

renesola_yehReneSola announced two senior management changes in the course of reporting its quarterly financial results. Cheng-Hsien Yeh, resigned as chief operating officer effective Nov. 1 to pursue other interests, while Mingde Wang joined the company on Nov. 15 as its VP of manufacturing.

Yeh (pictured) had served as COO of the solar-wafer manufacturer since October 2007. ReneSola says it has no immediate plans to hire a replacement for him.

Before joining ReneSola, new VP Wang served as general manager at Wuxi Weifuautocam Precision Machinery and as China project director for Wuxi Kent Precision Automotive Components. Prior to that, he spent nine years at Autocam Corp., based in Grand Rapids, MI, where he was China project director, product manager, and senior materials engineer.

Wang holds a bachelor of engineering degree and masters of engineering degree in material engineering from Zhejiang University and a PhD in materials science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
