Suniva,
Inc. has named James M. Modak as CFO, while former IBM executive J.
Bryan Ashley takes up the role of Vice President of Marketing. Suniva
recently closed its Series B round of funding, which saw the company
raise $50 million for a crystalline silicon solar cell plant in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Modak, joining the company from his CFO role at Datapath, brings almost 30 years of business development experience to Suniva. A graduate of Notre Dame University, he has led three public offerings in his career, and has worked with companies including Tradex Technologies as CFO and DWL, which went on to be sold to IBM, as COO and CFO.
Mr. Ashley joins Suniva from IBM Software Group where he was Director of Industry Marketing. Prior to joining IBM, he was CMO at DWL and ran his own international consulting practice in the early 1990s. He has degrees in marketing and economics from Louisiana Tech University, and has been involved in the marketing, business development and sales leadership business for nearly 30 years.
