A member of the First Solar Board of Directors since
2003, Bruce Sohn has officially joined the company in the position of
President. Sohn will report to CEO Mike Ahearn and his past experience
with Intel will aid in his new responsibilities as President.
Sohn’s 24-year tenure at Intel saw him playing a
vital role in the start-up team of five fabs, acting as program manager
for the company’s conversion to 300mm wafers and managing two of
Intel’s largest fabs, including Fab 11X. His experience has led to his
being invited to guest lecture at Stanford and MIT. Sohn is a senior
member of the IEEE, and he has a degree in materials science and
engineering from MIT.
