LDK
Solar has added Dr. Junwu Liang to the Board of LDK Solar as an
Independent Director. Dr. Liang is the third Independent Director on
the LDK Board, and brings the total number of company Directors to
eight.
In addition to his new seat on the Board, Dr. Liang also joins the Audit, Compensation, Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees. He is currently a professor at the Chinese Academy of Engineering in Beijing, and has in the past served as a faculty member at the Institute of Semiconductors at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also in Beijing.
A much-published author and patent holder, Dr. Liang has worked with the Yichang Semiconductor Factory in Yichang City and recently held a 12-year tenure as Chairman of the Institute of Electronic Materials, CIE. He has a Ph.D. in material science from the Institute of Metallurgy at the Academy of Sciences in the former U.S.S.R.
