A
new Scientific Advisory Board for Oerlikon has been established, with
the aim of keeping the company abreast of all R&D innovations.
Leading the Advisory Board is Professor Werner Martienssen from the
University of Frankfurt am Main, who will keep Oerlikon’s CEO Dr. Uwe
Krüger and Executive Vice President of R&D Dr. Andreas Widl
informed of all developments.
Professor Werner Martienssen will assume the role of Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). His area of expertise is in materials sciences, chaotic systems and quantum optics. Joining Professor Martienssen on the SAB are:
- Prof. Albert Pisano, Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley
- Prof. Peter Chen, Vice President of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH) and Professor for physical-organic chemistry and a member of the Research Commission
- Prof. Georg Färber, Chair in real-time comuter systems in the Technical University of Munich
- Prof. Christian Brecher, Chair of machine tools in the Laboratory of Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL), and Director and Head of the Production Machinery Division at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnologie (IPT).
