Jiangsu-based photovoltaic cell manufacturer Suntech Power Holdings
has agreed to invest RMB 2.67 billion in its Luoyang, Henan subsidiary
Luoyang Suntech for the construction of a 1 gigawatt (GW) solar battery
project scheduled for completion in December, 2010, reports
taiyangnengdianchi.com citing local government data. Project
construction is already underway with second phase work expected to be
complete in August, 2009, said the Luoyang government. At current
prices, the finished project is estimated to bring in annual sales
revenue of RMB 15 billion, said the report.
