Canadian
Solar, Inc. (CSI) and Becancour Silicon, Inc., a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Timminco, Ltd., have confirmed that they have reached the
supply and quality targets as set out in their original contract of
April 4th, 2007. As a result of this, Canadian Solar plans to formally
launch its e-Module product at the Intersolar Trade Show in Munich on
June 12-14th, 2008.
Becancour Silicon, Inc. delivered 16 tons of UMG silicon to Canadian Solar, and expects to deliver between 450 and 500 metric tons in 2008. The original agreement between the two companies was that CSI would receive up to 5000 metric tons of UMG from the date of the contract signing to 2011 at a significantly reduced rate.
