Solar (CSI) has signed solar wafer supply contracts with four
suppliers, including Jiangsu Shunda, giving CSI 12MW of wafers before
the summer of 2008. Shunda is expected to supply approximately 4MW of
that total amount.
CSI and Shunda have also agreed to a supply deal that is expected to provide more than 700MW of wafers from late 2008 through 2010.
“These contracts allow us to immediately diversify our silicon wafer supply sources while giving us the option of securing additional wafers from Shunda through 2015,” commented Dr. Shawn Qu, CEO of CSI.
