EMCORE has signed a memorandum of understanding with
SunPeak Solar for the provision and installation of between 200MW and
700MW of turnkey solar power systems for SunPeak’s project in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. SunPeak expects construction of the utility
scale project to begin in early 2009.
The agreement is dependent on the renewal of the
federal investment tax credit extending as far as 2009 and beyond,
while revenues arising from the agreement are not expected until 2009.
David Rennie, CEO of SunPeak Solar, said, “We are pleased to partner with EMCORE to ensure the capacity and cost requirements for these projects as EMCORE is the only vertically integrated CPV product provider and has the capacity and commitment for such projects.”
