Voltaix increases trimethylboron manufacturing capacity to meet thin-film solar demand

25 January 2008 | Materials: News
VoltaixVoltaix, LLC has said that it has significantly increased the production of trimethylboron to meet growing demand from the PV thin-film manufacturing industry. The product specifications for oxygen and other key contaminants have also been improved to ensure that the product will continue to meet the performance requirements of the solar industry, the company said.

"TMB is particularly well suited for solar process deposition applications because it has a superior thermal stability relative to more conventional boron sources. We have also significantly improved the levels of contaminants in the product to insure that TMB will continue to provide superior electrical properties in next generation solar processes," said Mike Pikulin, Voltaix Senior Vice President.

Voltaix uses a solvent-free process in the production of trimethylboron.
