40MW array for dairy farm in Brazil

Energy Team Brasil, the Brazillian subsidiary of European renewable project developers, Energy Team SRL Brixen, is planning to build a 40MW PV rooftop array in Brazil.

The project, ‘NOA White Gold’, will be constructed on the cattle stables rooftop of Terao dairy production facilities, and is said to be the first agricultural PV project in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Rio Grande do Sul benefits from 1,690kWh per meter squared in solar irradiation annually, the stables rooftop measures 580,000 square metres, of which 430,000 sqm will be used for the array, with 30MW to be grid connected, and 10MW for off-grid energy supply.

Construction of the first phase of the project is scheduled for the beginning of 2014, and should be completed by the end of 2015.

Energy Team Brasil will be responsible for planning, operation and maintenance.
