Intersolar pledges support for young solar companies; teams up with German Ministry

23 January 2009 | By Síle Mc Mahon | News > Market Watch

Intersolar 2009Intersolar’s organisers have reiterated their support of young and innovative companies in the solar industry today, and will continue to offer reduced rates for such participants at Intersolar 2009. The solar technology trade show has entered into a support initiative with the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) in presenting Germany as an attractive location for starting a business.

The initiative was launched last year, and involves the coverage of 80% of booth rental and set-up by the BMWi for those participating young companies. This year, Intersolar has increased the shared booth of the sponsored companies by 20% to 300m2, and it is anticipated that at least 15 innovative companies will be availing of the incentive at this year’s show.

Criteria for participation stipulate that the companies should be less than 10 years old, employ less than 50 employees and have an annual turnover of less than €10 million. They must have an emphasis on new product or process developments, or claim and illustrate improvements for technology in the PV, solar thermal or solar architecture sectors. Further information on the incentive scheme is available here.
