LDK Solar has reiterated that its Trichlorosilane (TCS) plant at its
Xinyu, Jiangxi site remains on construction schedule as the Basic
Engineering Phase (BEP) has been completed, which includes the detailed
drawings for the actual construction phase of the project.

“Completion of the BEP by CDI Engineering on-time and on-budget is an
important milestone to reach in the construction of our poly plant as
we move forward with our plans to establish in-house polysilicon
production,” said Mr. Nick Sarno, Senior Vice President of
manufacturing. “CDI Engineering performed admirably and met its
contractual commitments to LDK’s fullest satisfaction.”

The
company said that its TCS plant would be completed and would facilitate
the production of up to 6,000 metric tons of polysilicon by the end of
2008 and 15,000 metric tons by the end of 2009.

However, there remains uncertainty that such projections for 2008 will be achieved.
