Czech Republic solar company Nobility Solar Projects has revealed that it plans to complete a portfolio of 40MW of solar power plants in the country by the end of 2010. With a current output of 18MW, this 22MW increase will involve the construction of several smaller plants in the region such as the two 3.2MW systems commissioned in June and November near Brno.
Nobility Solar plans to use Sputnik Engineering’s SolarMax inverters for the plants; the company used 
nine SolarMax 300 C central inverters for the two Brno-based plants.
These projects are subject to a feed-in tariff of 12.79 Czech Koruna (about €0.50) over a 20-year period for every kilowatt-hour generated, which could mean that the plants will have paid back the cost of their construction within 10 years, according to the company.
“Since 2008 we have constructed solar power plants with a total output of 18 megawatts”, says Roman Kočí, commercial director at Nobility Solar Projects. “In 2010 this number will rise to 40 megawatts. We think the market will develop quickly next year if the feed-in tariffs sink by only five percent, as planned”.
