22 August 2008 | By Síle Mc Mahon | News > Fab and Facilities

YingliYingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd. has announced a framework agreement with a local government in Beijing that will see the company construct a new 10MW solar power plant in the area. Yingli plans to establish a new company that will construct the plant in conjunction with a body controlled by the county government. The deal is still awaiting confirmation, but construction of the plant is expected to commence in the second half of 2009.

“We are excited about this opportunity to construct an on-grid solar power plant in Beijing, which would be the first solar power plant we construct and operate,” said Liansheng Miao, Chairman and CEO of Yingli Green Energy. “We believe our participation in this project is in line with our strategy of expanding into downstream applications of PV technology and will further strengthen our vertical integration business model.”
