Yingli’s 2008 Global Customer Conference highlights framework agreements with key suppliers

In between stressing Yingli Green Energy Holdings Company’s marketing strategies to solidify its position in Europe and analyzing the major markets in Europe and North America at the Yingli Green Energy 2008 Global Customer Conference, the company managed to also announce framework agreements with two key suppliers: Sinofusion Solar Performance Material Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Flat Glass Co., Ltd.
The two non-polysilicon suppliers are looking to establish production facilities in the National High and New Technology Zone of Baoding, China and are Yingli’s major suppliers of crucible and tempered glass. Under the framework agreement, each of the suppliers will construct production lines in Baoding and simultaneously supply products to Yingli at a favorable price. Yingli will in turn construct and lease factory buildings to the two suppliers and buy products from their Baoding facilities on a priority basis.
Commercial operation of the facilities and delivery to Yingli are expected to begin in late 2009 with the all parties approving to reach separate agreements on pricing terms. Yingli is also hoping to enter into a comparable framework agreement in early November with Hangzhou First Hot-melt Adhesive Film Co., Ltd., Yingli’s chief supplier of ethylene vinyl acetate.
"We’re delighted to establish closer relationships with our key suppliers by helping them establish production lines in Baoding,” commented Mr. Liansheng Miao, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yingli Green Energy. “Under these agreements, we expect to not only benefit from a steady supply of important materials for our production but also further reduce our non-polysilicon costs and enhance competitive advantages.”
