Bettina Weiss wins 2010 Women in Solar Energy (WISE) Award

Having been involved in International Standards for ten years at SEMI, Bettina Weiss, Senior Director, Photovoltaics, SEMI PV Group has been awarded with the 2010 Women in Solar Energy Award at the recent American Solar Energy Society (ASES) National Conference, where she also gave a presentation. Bettina first joined the SEMI Europe office in Belgium in 1996.

The recipient of this award is presented to a woman who has contributed significantly to the acceptance and advancement of women in solar through their work in advocacy, politics, education, technical, or social change.

"I am proud to be the 2010 recipient of the WISE Award and I will continue to advocate on behalf of this industry to the best of my abilities,” commented Weiss. “I believe solar manufacturing supply chain issues are getting more and more complex and that we need opportunities for stakeholders to come together and identify challenges and bottlenecks that are best addressed collectively. That’s what we a global trade association provide—opportunities to connect."
