Bisol Group advised that, along with investor Samruk-Energo, it will construct a 2MW turnkey solar plant in Kazakhstan. The ground-mounted PV system will be built in the city of Kapchagay in the Almaty Province. Once completed, it will be operated and owned by Samruk-Green Energy.
The PV system will be divided into two parts. The main eastern portion of the project will see 1,400kW of Bisol’s monocrystalline PV models on a fixed ground structure. Conversely, the north-west division will have 61 solar trackers with 600kW of Bisol monocrystalline PV modules. This will be the first project of its kind in Kazakhstan and is expected to be completed within three months of the contract being signed.
Dr. UrošMerc, CEO of Bisol Group, commented, "Investing in solar energy presents a great potential and 2MW Bisol PV system will be amongst the first ones in Kazakhstan to set precedence. At the same time this PV system means an important technological breakthrough and a technology transfer in one of the most resource-rich countries in the world. Kazakhstan has huge potential in generating electricity using solar energy; the south-eastern part of the state has more than 300 sunny days a year."
