Bosch Solar Energy has completed a multi-site solar project on the Islands of Maui and Lanai, in Hawaii.
The project has a combined capacity of 1.9MW (DC) and constitutes what is said to be the largest solar PV project in Maui County, in Hawaii.

The project includes 11 public as well as private buildings including four fire stations, a police station and two residential wastewater treatment facilities.
The Kihei Wastewater Treatment Facility was equipped with 3,696 Bosch PV panels.
Alan Arakawa, the Mayor of Maui said: “This investment alone will save the county in total more than $10 million over 20 years. The project provided more than 200 local jobs for four months and reflects the county’s commitment to installing renewable energy systems.”
Bosch Solar Energy in collaboration with its partners have designed, constructed and financed the project under a power purchase agreement.
The agreement helps Hawaii to exploit the benefits of the solar power without upfront costs. The county is expected to save in total $10 million over the next 20 years.
