BTU completes ISO9001 certification at Shanghai facility

BTU International has successfully completed ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Shanghai manufacturing operations. The facility serves as the thermal processing equipment company’s Asia Pacific headquarters and includes manufacturing, engineering, process development, sales, and service functions and houses BTU’s first Center of Excellence for Photovoltaics Manufacturing Technology.

Boris Mathiszik, BTU’s managing director for Asia Pacific, explained that the Shanghai operations have grown rapidly since their opening in 2004.

“Initially, this plant was geared toward the manufacturing of surface mount technology equipment," he said. "Since then, we have added product lines from our photovoltaics portfolio and our operations here are now supporting both electronics and solar customers globally. The ISO 9001:2008 certification positions our operations for additional growth and ensures adherence to the highest quality standards."
