BYD adds 400MW PV module assembly plant to Brazilian manufacturing strategy

Chinese manufacturer BYD Company is to build a 400MW PV module assembly plant in Brazil  at a cost of around US$50 million, adding to its planned electric bus manufacturing facility in the state of São Paulo.

BYD noted that the new facility would be operational in the first half of 2016, creating around 200 jobs. The company had previously announced an R&D facility and module assembly in Brazil but had not outlined the scale of the operations.
