Cabot Consultants announces first annual list of “Women to Watch in Solar Energy”

Cabot Consultants, the national search firm with practice areas in technology, clean tech, and renewable energy, has announced its first annual list of "Women to Watch in Solar Energy."

The five women named as important in the US solar energy sector are Julie Blunden, Vice President, Public Policy and Corporate Communications for SunPower Corporation; Martha Duggan, Vice President, Regulatory and Government Affairs, for United Solar Ovonic, LLC; Julia Hamm, Executive Director of the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA); Monique Hanis, Director of Communications, (Solar Energy Industries Association) SEIA and Nancy Hartsoch, Vice President, Marketing and Sales for SolFocus, and Director of the CPV Consortium.

Julie Blunden is responsible for public relations, financial relations, public policy, and market development at SunPower and has also been a consultant on energy markets, renewable resources and policy to industry, utilities and state and federal governments, supporting Schwarzenegger back in 2004.

Martha Duggan works with policy makers, industry experts, professional associations and local, state and federal leaders in the development of solar programs at United Solar Ovonic. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), as the Chair of SEIA's Policy Committee, and is on the Board of Directors of the Solar Alliance.

Prior to running SEPA, Julia Hamm worked as a senior associate at ICF International, a leading consulting firm in the areas of energy and environment, where she supported the US Environmental Protection Agency with the implementation of the ENERGY STAR program. Hamm is also the chair of Solar Power International and is on the board of directors of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council.

Monique Hanis is responsible for SEIA's industry communications to support the trade group's lobbying efforts and promoting expansion of the U.S. solar energy market. Hanis has also wrote, edited and published several industry books, surveys and articles; she lives in Arlington, Virginia in a home with solar-powered water heater and a 2.7kW PV solar energy system.

Nancy Hartsoch is responsible for SolFocus's product marketing, collaborative partnerships, marketing services and business development activities. As Director of the CPV Consortium, Hartsoch leads the group's efforts to support the development and ensure the success of CPV as a mainstream energy source.
