Silicon PV and sapphire materials equipment supplier GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT) said its long-standing CEO, Tom Gutierrez has resigned all positions at the company, which continues to operate under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
GTAT said that its new CEO would be its former EVP and general manager of its Polysilicon and Photovoltaic business, David Keck.

Keck will also join Hoil Kim, VP, chief administrative officer and general counsel and Raja Bal, CFO, to a newly established Office of the Chairman, which would oversee ongoing Chapter 11 progression, which will report to the Restructuring Committee of the Board.
Keck, has been with GTAT in 2006, and was previously EVP, worldwide sales and services, with responsibility for ASF (sapphire furnace) sales until early 2014. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the design, operation, sales, marketing, and management of polysilicon facilities.
Before joining GT Advanced Technologies, Keck operated his own consulting business relating to the silicon industry and served as VP of business development for Advanced Silicon Materials Incorporated (ASIMI), now known as REC Silicon.
