China-based JACO starts solar grade silicon shipments

JACO Corporation Limited, a China-based solar grade silicon producer said it had recently started shipments of its low-carbon, low-cost second generation SoG – ‘JACO 1’ material to customers in both Taiwan and Singapore.

"This changes the situation that the China polysilicon market relies on imports for the long-term," commented JACO's marketing director, Chip Luo. “It also demonstrates the competitiveness and value of JACO 1 material that could help the government to have a different export policy for Second Generation SoG."

JACO is aiming to become a leading supplier of low-cost silicon.
