CNPV Solar Power has advised that its mono- and polycrystalline modules have been confirmed by TÜV Rheinland as meeting ISOCD14067 specifications, which incorporates ISO14040:2006, ISO14044:2006 and PAS2050:2011 standards. The module evaluation gives a numerical value to the amount of CO2 generated from manufacturing through the module’s life cycle over a period of 100 years by studying its raw materials, conversion process, manufacturing burdens, in-use variations and final degradation.

Bypina Veerraju Chaudary, CNPV's COO & CTO commented , “…With recent conclusive data provided by TÜV Rheinland demonstrating our results to date, we can continue to develop further initiatives to continually reduce our environmental impact from both sides of the equation; further reduction in carbon consumption during the products life cycle, and increased photon conversion with products in use."

CNPV further confirmed that its polycrystalline modules had also been granted external confirmation of the significant use of European content, enabling them to take part in the additional 10% premium on the Italian FiT. The testing for raw material and components was completed by the Institute of Industrial Certification for Mechanics (ICIM).

Chaudary commented in more detail, stating, "The updated Conto Energia IV feed-in tariff (FiT) policy, allows for a premium FiT payment for 'Made in Europe' modules. This clear positive payment differential has a significant financial impact for our customers. Many of our component elements are of European origin, as a result of our technical performance and quality criteria selection processes; this in part contributes to our validated competitive benefits when observing power harvested and value in use. The amended Italian FiT policy ascribes the 10% premium payment when the EU made components constitute at least 60% of the cost of the PV system. It was therefore a matter of obtaining a confirming certificate for us to attain the 'Made in EU' insignia. It is particularly exciting when our decisions, such as raw material selection for technical superiority, can then provide further unforeseen external commercial benefits to our customers."

    Photovoltaics International 16th Edition

This sixteenth edition of Photovoltaics International marks four years of production of the quarterly journal. As always, our focus is on efficiency and quality improvement and cost reduction in manufacturing. As 2012 rolls along, companies are falling by the wayside due to supply and demand issues, ASP declines and drastic governmental subsidy cuts. A clear picture of 2012 is offered through papers from the likes of TÜV Rheinland, Fraunhofer ISE, SEMI PV Group and EPIA, amongst others.
