The Italian energy agency, GSE, has issued a statement declaring the first register for PV systems greater than 12kW closed on September 18. Italy’s Conto Energia V, which began August 27, will be operating with a budget of less than €530 million. In addition, once the €6.70 billion cap is reached, Italy will not offer any further incentives for PV installations.
A monthly report from Italian grid operator Terna SpA revealed that electricity generated from PV during that month grew by 49.2%, from 1,501GWh in August 2011 to 2,240GWh in August 2012.
The selected plants will be published on the GSE website within 20 days.
