CPUC approves remainder of BrightSource’s PG&E contracts

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has granted approval to the remaining five solar power contracts between BrightSource Energy and PG&E. All 1,310MW of planned large-scale projects between the two companies may now proceed to the development stage.

“The CPUC’s approval of all of our PG&E contracts marks a key milestone as we progress towards constructing California’s first large-scale solar projects in decades,” commented John Woolard, BrightSource Energy’s President and CEO. “We’re thrilled by the opportunity to help California meet its renewable energy goals and to support leading utilities like PG&E in their efforts to bring customers more clean and reliable solar energy.”
