The board of directors for China Technology Development Group (CTDC) have newly appointed Liao Lin-Hsiang as the chief operating officer and Bruno Diaz Herrera as chief technology officer effective December 13, 2010. Liao will take over for Lu Zhenwei who resigned from his COO position, but has continued on as executive director for CTDC.
Liao will be overseeing the operation management of CTDC and its subsidiaries in his new role. He has a background in the European PV market as he was the founder and CEO of Linsun Renewable Energy (LSR) and has been the general manager of Linsun Power Technology (LSP) since 2009. LSR and LSP became wholly-owned subsidiaries of CTDC on November 23, 2010.
Liao has served in different senior management positions for corporations where he gained knowledge in the operation, production management and marketing aspects, which will compliment his new role. Liao graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Oxford Brooks University in the U.K.
Herrera was previously a part of the Focus-Abengoa-Fedea Research Program and has a background as a senior technical and research advisor for companies such as Siemens and ITER. Additionally, his background includes time as a professor in the master’s program in renewable energies at University of La Laguna in Spain. He will be responsible for the technology management, product development and R&D strategy in his CTO position.
Herrera has a bachelor’s degree in physics, an engineering degree in industrial engineering and an engineering degree in electronics from the University of La Laguna and received his master’s degree in business administration from the same university. He is multi-lingual, having a proficiency in Spanish, English, French, German and Italian.
