Dr. Jürg Henz makes CEO role at Oerlikon Solar permanent

Oerlikon Solar has appointed its interim CEO, Jürg Henz, to the role permanently. He was appointed interim CEO in November 2009 after the sudden departure of former CEO, Jeannine Sargent, who joined the company in September 2007. Previously, Henz was the senior manager of the Oerlikon Group and head of the Oerlikon Solar Thin Film business unit.

“I am convinced of Oerlikon’s thin-film solar technology and will now contribute in a leading position to realize its potential to the full,” commented Henz.

“It is a positive signal for customers, employees and investors that Dr. Henz now executes this function without any restrictions. With this step, Dr. Henz ensures management continuity which is necessary to bring Oerlikon Solar forward,” noted Thomas Babacan, COO of Oerlikon Group.
