Einar Glomnes recently resigned his position from the board of Ascent Solar, effective December 21, after he was promoted to vice president of sales, Europe, along with other added roles at Norsk Hydro. As his departure left a seat open, Norsk Hydro Produksjon, Ascent’s largest stockholder, designated Hans Olav Kvalvaag as the newest member of the board.

Kvalvaag began his tenure with Norsk Hydro in 2006 as part of its new and alternative energy group and is a member of the company’s corporate business development team. His past positions saw him working with McKinsey & Company as a management consultant and as a lawyer for Norwegian law firm Selmer. Kvalvaag received finance diplomas from the Norwegian School of Business Administration and the University of Auckland and his law degree from the University of Oslo.

“On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank Einar for his significant contributions to Ascent Solar’s growth and progress. We wish Einar the very best as he expands his responsibilities at Norsk Hydro,” stated Farhad Moghadam, president and CEO of Ascent Solar. “We also welcome Hans to our board and look forward to benefitting from his expertise and insights, as well as continued support from Norsk Hydro.”
