Electricity demand in Italy during January has dropped by 2.6% compared to the same period last year, it has been reported by figures released by electricity transmission grid operator, Terna.
The net national production of 23.9kWh decreased by 4.3% compared to January 2011 and electricity generated by PV solar was up by 422.7%.
Regionally, demand in the north was down by negative 1.6%, the centre, negative 2.2% and in the south, negative 4.7%.
Terna states that the data collated has been adjusted to take into consideration the number of days and seasonal changes.
