Emel Energy, a subsidiary of Emel Bratislava, has begun construction on a 1.6MW thin-film solar power plant near Uherske Hradiste in the south-east of the Czech Republic. According to a news report on Solarbuzz, the contractor for this project is juwi’s Czech subsidiary, which company will oversee the installation of over 20,000 First Solar modules and four centralized SMA inverters.
The report claims that the company anticipates an expansion to include more Eastern European countries such as Slovakia. The turnkey contract for this project was signed in January, which will also incorporate a test field for Emel’s new solar technologies.
