enXco, a specialist in renewable energy and a company owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles, has been rebranded as EDF Renewable Energy as part of its intregration into the EDF Group.

EDF Energies Nouvelles is a subsidiary of the EDF group. Ten years ago, it acquired enXco. At the time of the acquisition, the EDF group owned a 50% stake in EDF Energies Nouvelles. However, In August 2011, the EDF group required the remaining 50% in the company. As a result, enXco is now fully integrated within the EDF group and will operate under the new name of EDF Renewable Energy.

Moreover, enXco’s services division, which was known as enXco Service Corporation, will now be rebranded as EDF Renewable Services. The division provides third-party operations and maintenance services in North America.

According to the companies, the integration enables the firms to “capitalize on shared knowledge, financial strength and long-term stability”.

The president and CEO of EDF Renewable Energy, Tristan Grimbert, commented, “The full integration with EDF allows for increased global backing, new financial and technical resources, and the stability to expand our business, while maintaining our entrepreneurial spirit. We will continue to work collaboratively with our customers and clients as a local partner, ensuring mutual respect and accountability to deliver the best projects and service possible. The deeper affiliation with EDF will create a stronger U.S. subsidiary poised to meet future challenges.”
