EPIA hosts open workshop on reducing regulatory hurdles to PV installations in Europe

A collection of European solar industry associations and partners are now collaborating on a program, dubbed PV LEGAL, that could see a reduction in the regulatory hurdles that can hamper PV installations, especially in the large-scale utility market. Fifteen EU PV industry partners from 12 EU Member States are to undertake a 30-month investigation into the different bureaucratic systems and procedures as well as real-world experiences in 12 States to identify the barriers in place that slow unnecessarily the time it takes to implement a project from start to finish.

At next week's EU PVSEC event a workshop has been organised and is open to everyone on Tuesday 22 September from 14:45 to 18:00 at the EPIA Industry Area: Hall B2, stand G59.

The removal of bureaucratic barriers is considered by many as a key progression needed by both the industry as well as the European Union, which is supporting the endeavour under the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme.

Partners within LEGAL PV include the BSW-Solar, German Solar Industry Association (Coordinator), ASIF, Spanish Photovoltaic Industry Association Assosolare, Italian Photovoltaic Industry Association, ENERPLAN, French Solar professional association, HELAPCO, Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies, PTPV, Polish Society for Photovoltaics, REA, UK Renewable Energy Association, SER, French Renewable Energy Industry Association, ZSFI, Slovenian Photovoltaic Industry Association, EPIA, European Photovoltaic Industry Association and eclareon Management Consultants.

Collaborating organisations include Holland Solar (NL), Czech Renewable Energy Agency, APESF (Portuguese Photovoltaic Industry Association) and the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association.
