Evergreen Solar’s SVP of Marketing and Sales leaving

Dr. J. Terry Bailey, SVP Marketing and Sales at Evergreen Solar is leaving the company  later this month to become Chief Executive Officer of an unidentified ‘venture-backed’ solar company based in California. The duties will be taken over while a search for a replacement takes place by Richard Feldt, Chairman, President and CEO. Michael El-Hillow, Chief Financial Officer, will take on additional responsibilities for global operations and administration.

Dr. Bailey joined Evergreen Solar in August 2004. Prior to this position, Dr. Bailey was a consultant for GE Power Systems from April 2004 to August 2004. From February 2003 to April 2004, Dr. Bailey served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for AstroPower, Inc.

Evergreen Solar also announced the appointment of Henry Ng to the position of General Manager – Asian Operations. Prior to joining Evergreen Solar, Mr. Ng was General Manager of the Suntech Power Holding Co., Ltd. factory in Wuxi, a position he held since July 2007.

Previous to his time at Suntech, Ng held various Asian-based senior leadership positions, principally at Sony.
