Tracking system engineering firm Exosun has signed a deal with renewable energy company Fonroche Energie to provide 12MW of trackers and related services to the 'Le Betout' solar plant located in south-west France.
The 12MW PV installation will be built on a 32-hectare site in Saint-Hélène, near Bordeaux. Le Betout is projected to produce 16,900MWh of power annually. The project is being financed by Capenergie 2, a renewable energy fund organised by capital investment firm Omnes Capital.

Exosun will supply and install 81 Exotrack HZ horizontal single-axis trackers to the site. These trackers will support 40,640 panels and around 850,000 square feet of PV modules, moving them in accordance with the position of the sun in order to maximise the total energy output of the site.
Frédéric Conchy, president and founder of Exosun, said:“We are very pleased with this first partnership with Fonroche. … We aim to optimise the plant’s profitability and obtain a rapid return on investment.”
The tracker technology is set to be installed this month with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2014.
