Eyelit’s 40% growth marks 12th consecutive profit year for 2008

Eyelit, Inc. has recorded its 12th consecutive year of growth, boasting 40% revenue growth over 2007. Despite some orders being delayed toward the end of 2008, the company’s record results can be mainly attributed to its software licensing, which saw a 50% increase in new customers in 2008 compared to 2007.

Eyelit’s geographical expansion saw the company sign a distribution, system integrator and support partnership with German company Systema GmbH, leading to new customer wins and projects. Eyelit recorded revenue from regions including Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America in 2008, and has recently hired staff in Shanghai, China.

Future growth for Eyelit’s PV sector looks set to be driven by new business from manufacturers in both thin-film and silicon-based companies. New customers for 2009 include CaliSolar, which has ordered Eyelit’s factory automation, manufacturing execution, quality, and asset management software suite for its new UMG-Si facility.

“We are very pleased with the 40% growth and the results we achieved in 2008, particularly in light of the current economy. We saw some softness at the end of 2008 and some buying decisions delayed, but are happy that we’ve already been able to add new customers in 2009. Eyelit is cautiously optimistic about 2009, we expect solar to continue to lead…We are adding larger customers as global manufacturers continue to select Eyelit as their choice for mission-critical operations, which will result in additional services revenue,” said Dan Estrada, Eyelit’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
