First Solar and enXco, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, signed a solar module supply agreement, which will see First Solar deliver 61MWp of its thin-film modules. Delivery is set to start in September and will supply enXco’s Catalina Solar Project in Kern County, California.

Catalina Solar will be built in two phases. The first 60MWp phase is expected to be online by the end of this year, with the second phase online by June 2013. “First Solar has a long-standing relationship with EDF Energies Nouvelles and we're excited to extend this to the United States with enXco,” said Dana Diller, First Solar VP for U.S. Business Development. “We're pleased to be a part of the Catalina Solar Project and playing a role in its success as well as helping California reach its renewable energy goals.”
