The French government will offer an additional 10% under its domestic content allowance bonus, in line with emergency measures announced last month.
Crystalline silicon PV modules on residential building (T1), PV systems with simplified integration (T4) and ground-mounted PV plants (T5) will qualify for a 5% increase, in addition to the feed-in tariff (FiT), if all stages of the wafer production process were completed in the European Economic Area (EEA).
To qualify for 10%, in addition to the FiT, manufacturers have to verify that their modules have been assembled and laminated in the EEA. Thin-film modules also qualify for the 10% bonus if the preparation and deposition phase are completed within the EEA.
The new rules for T1 and T4 are effective from 1 February; tariffs for T5 will be retroactive from 1 October 2012.
