Gebäude-Solarsysteme (GSS) and Day4 Energy mutually revealed that GSS has successfully completed the integration of Day4’s process equipment technology into its existing production line. GSS plans to start manufacturing and delivering commercial volume shipments of its solar modules using Day4’s DNA technology by the first week of July. All upgrades to GSS’s module production facility were completed by Day4 Energy’s engineering team in June.
GSS’s solar modules will be produced with a Day4 DNA PV cell, which is delivered to the market through licensed cell manufacturing partners. The new product line will feature GSS’s 48 cell multi-crystalline solar PV modules with Day4 Energy’s stay powerful and live-long technologies.
"The integration of Day4 Energy's PV cell lay-up procedure into our existing production line was simple, low cost and our production ramp-up has been flawless," commented Joachim Höhne, managing director of GSS. "From a manufacturing process stand point, we are very pleased with where we are today, particularly with producing solar modules that have extremely low cell to module (CTM) losses - something we haven't experienced with conventional technology," observed Höhne. "And from a sales perspective, our current production plan is already fully allocated to customers. This is another benefit that you don't normally see with standard solar modules," concluded Hans-UweFlorstedt, managing director of GSS.
