Hanergy is to launch thin-film systems at IKEA stores in the UK following its recent partnership with Q-Cells’ subsidiary Solibro. Hanergy will be conducting three workshops at the IKEA Milton Keynes store this Sunday. IKEA has already distributed nearly 70,000 messages to its British members in order to recommend Hanergy solar systems for homeowners.

Further details are yet to be disclosed.

“We believe in the growth potential of the British PV market. This is why Hanergy has decided to launch its small power generation systems in the UK. Our cooperation with IKEA was only a matter of time since we share the same principles of environmental protection and sustainable development,” said Jason Chow, CEO of Hanergy global investment and sales.

In IKEA’s 2011 sustainability report, the company stated that it had invested £390 million into implementing wind and solar energy across its 287 stores worldwide.

Hanergy estimates that its rooftop units would be able to help British households save up to 40% of their electricity bills.
