Hanwha Group has signed an exclusive partnership with Hamburger SV. Under the terms of the two-year exclusive partnership, Hanwha will carry out a wide range of advertising campaigns in Hamburg’s Imtech Arena and was also granted naming rights for the club’s pre-season tournament, the Hanwha Solar Cup.
“Hanwha Group is yet another top international brand that has chosen to align with Hamburger SV. This shows once again that the Bundesliga is highly regarded not just in Germany but around the world, and will help Hamburger SV become even more widely known in Asia,” said Joachim Hilke, HSV's director of marketing and communications.

Hanwha Group and Hamburger are also planning to work together away from the football pitch to raise awareness about solar and other renewable energy sources.
“We are delighted to be an exclusive partner to Hamburger SV and to be lending our name to the Hanwha Solar Cup. This is the first football sponsorship by Hanwha Group to promote our solar business and we feel it provides us with an ideal opportunity to deliver real benefits to the people of Hamburg,” added Hanwha’s Ki-Joon Hong.
Earlier this week, Hanwha announced a similar sponsorship agreement with English football club Bolton Wanderers.
