Intersolar to honor innovative companies in the solar field

Intersolar, the world's largest trade show for solar technology, will award prizes to exceptional products and services in the categories "Photovoltaics" and "Solar Thermal Technology" for the second consecutive year.  All companies exhibiting at Intersolar from May 27 – 29, 2009 will be able to participate in the official AWARD ceremony that will be held on May 27. Applications will be accepted until April 24.

The Intersolar-AWARD will be presented by organizers Solar Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG, in cooperation with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar), with the top ten submissions from each category being nominated.  Two independent and expert juries from the fields of photovoltaics and solar thermal technology will select three of the ten nominees in each of the categories.

Winners will be announced at the May 27 ceremony, which will be at the Innovation Exchange in Hall B3.  Due to the solar industry's eye on the Intersolar AWARD, winners are guaranteed exposure.

The CEO of FWTM, Klaus W. Seilnacht said, “The Intersolar AWARD offers applicants a global platform to present themselves and their products to one of the largest international growth markets. Competition between the different technological solutions helps to open a door into the future of sustainable energy supply.”  Also, displaying the Intersolar-AWARD signet on product marketing materials is guaranteed to enhance their status.

Awards in photovoltaic technology will also be presented on May 28 by Cell Award, which is designed to acknowledge and recognise achievements in the production of solar technology.  For the Cell Award, eight awards are chosen out of four main categories, including Solar Manufacturing Facilities, Manufacturing Equipment and Services, Green Solar Manufacturing, and the Solar Industry Choice Award.   Awards are open to all companies involved in the solar industry.
