The German Technical Control Board, TÜV Süd Germany, has awarded Nanosolar’s Luckenwalde panel assembly plant the ISO 9001:2008 certificate.

The certification will cover all manufacturing steps, as well as testing of the company’s thin-film solar panels. The ISO 9001:2008 certificate applies to specific quality management systems and is awarded when all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements are met.

Nanosolar CEO Eugenia Corrales commented, “We are proud to have received this ISO 9001 certification, which formally confirms that our German solar panel assembly factory is operating at the highest standards of quality and reliability.”

Nanosolar opened its fully automated Luckenwalde manufacturing plant in 2008, the factory employs 98 people but requires just six operators to function per shift. Nanosolar had produced and shipped 100,000 thin film solar modules from the plant by the end of 2011.
